Swath Editor

 
The Swath Editor command opens the Chesapeake Swath Bathymetry Editor. The CTI Swath Editor allows the user to step a view window down through a dataset where the soundings can be edited in various 2D and 3D windows. The Swath Editor can be opened by:
 
1. Clicking the Bathymetry | Swath Editor icon from the Bathymetry Menu.
2. Selecting the Swath Editor... command from the Bathymetry File context menu.

Quick Access Toolbar

1. Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar is the “starting point” for most commands that a user would traditionally find under the “File” menu of predominant Windows-based applications. Clicking on the icon opens the Quick Access Toolbar to reveal the (enabled) main functions available.
 
The following table shows the default Quick Access Toolbar Command icons and links to the appropriate section of the manual for more information.

Open Bathymetry Database
Opens Windows Explorer and is used to open bathymetry sqlite database files (.CDF)
Open Colormap
Opens Windows Explorer and is used to open GlobalMapper color map files (.CLR)
Reset Window Layout
Resets the windows to their default locations
About...
Shows version number and build date.
Settings...
Opens Application settings.

Color Maps

2. Color Maps
Used to select the color map preset for the currently loaded bathymetry points. Will display current elevation scale based on color map choosen.

Subset Manager

3. Subset Manager
Drop down menus used to adjust settings of the bathymetry points.
 
The General drop down menu is used to toggle the following settings for the bathymetry points.
Settings
Description
Show rejected samples
Toggle displaying rejected points in the 2D and 3D view.
Replicate pings in top view
Toggle displaying pings in top view
Replicate pings in side view
Toggle displaying pings in side view
Show bathy points
Toggle displaying bathy points
Show ping lines
Toggle displaying ping lines
Point Size
Used to adjust the point size in the 2D and 3D view.
Sweep length
Length in pings that are displayed in all of the viewers in the editor
Vertical scale (cross-track view)
Adjust the vertical depth scale in the cross track and side view
 
The Subset Details drop down menu lists the current dimensions of the area being edited as well as the range of depths, total sample count, and a percentage look at filterd points in the area.
 
The Colors drop down menu is used to adjust the attribute the data set is colored with (options include ping, survey line, amplitude, and elevation) as well as adjust the type, scale, and color map.

Subset Editors

4. Subset Editors
The Subset Editors section is used to toggle the various windows in the editor as well as choose the cursor drawing option for editing points in the point subset views.

Real-Time Acquisiton

5. Real-Time Acquisiton
The Real-Time Acqusition menu is used to listen to the currently recording bathymetry p[oints coming into the project and display them in the Swath Editor. Selecting Exit will stop the real-time display.

Filter Status Change

6. Filter Status Change
The Accept and Reject buttons are used to flag selected points in the editor to either be kept or removed.
 
The Min/Max Filter is used to flag points inside or outside of a selected depth or amplitude range.
 
The Density Filter is used to create bin sections in the whole profile of your points and flagging all the points in a specific section that doesnt contain a minimum number of points. This filter works well in removing outliers and fliers.
 
The Polyline Filter is used to select all of the points below or above the drawn polyline.
 
The Polygon Filter is used to select all of the points inside or outside the drawn polygon.
 
The Undo and Redo buttons are used to cycle back and forth through previous edits.
 
Auto Mode allows all selected points to be automatically rejected or accepted without the need of the Accept and Reject buttons. Use Auto Mode Off to turn of this function.

Application Settings

7. Application Settings
The Application Settings contain all of the settings for the Swath Editor.
 
The General section contains various settings to adjust the background and label color, to toggle on cursor tracking between the swath editor and SonarWiz, the maximum number of points, and the UDP port to configure status messages.
 
The Miscellanous tab in the Application Settings window is used to adjust colormap scaling and settings in the swath editor.
 
The Advanced Subset Editors tab in the Application Settings window contains various checkboxes for general settings.

Graphics Settings

The Graphic Settings button opens the Quality & Performance Settings menu and is used to adjust antialiasing values and options for the program.

Displays current point subset in 3D view. Use the settings dialog to adjust displayed points and axes.
