position overview

We are seeking a talented Remote Technical Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at
Chesapeake Technology, Inc. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while
providing crucial technical assistance and customer support for our SonarWiz software suite.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity for occasional worldwide travel to
support customer engagements and training sessions.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide timely and professional technical support to customers remotely via phone,
    email, and virtual conferencing tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues, including installation, configuration,
    and usage problems, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Guide customers through the use of SonarWiz features and functionalities, offering best
    practices and recommendations for optimal performance
  • Document customer interactions, including inquiries, troubleshooting steps, and
    resolutions, in our ticketing system, ensuring accurate and thorough record-keeping.
  • Collaborate effectively with our development team to escalate and resolve complex
    technical issues and software bugs
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles, user guides,
    and other support documentation to enhance customer self-service resources
  • May be required to travel domestic and international for customer engagements,
    training sessions, and events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science, Oceanography, Computer Science, or related field
    preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical support, customer service, or software troubleshooting
    roles, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality support remotely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage
    with customers and internal teams in a virtual environment
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn and understand complex software
    applications, with a focus on problem-solving and innovative solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Experience with sonar systems, hydrographic surveying, or marine mapping software is
    highly desirable
  • Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) concepts and software is
    advantageous
  • May be required to travel domestic and international for customer engagements,
    training sessions, and events
Additional Information:
  • Salary range from $55,000 to $70,000 depending on experience
